Northwest Georgia residents are being warned about a convincing telephone scam in which callers impersonate law enforcement officers and claim the person receiving the call failed to report for jury duty and now faces arrest.

Woman Reports Purse Missing After Vehicle Was Parked On Bellah Avenue

A Summerville woman reported a missing purse to the Summerville Police Department after discovering it was no longer in her vehicle.

According to an incident report, Brandy Leigh Arnold told police that while her vehicle was parked on the side of the road on Bellah Avenue near Espy Street, her purse was removed from the vehicle.

Arnold said she had been away from the vehicle from approximately 8:30 AM until 2:26 PM on September 2.

The missing purse was described as baby blue with stiff handles. Inside was a brown wallet with “L” symbols on it containing Arnold’s driver’s license, credit cards and Social Security card.

The incident was documented by the Summerville Police Department as lost/missing property.
