Summerville Main Street is inviting families to climb aboard The Summerville Santa Special this December for a festive 75-minute train ride departing from the Historic Summerville Depot. The holiday excursions run December 6th and 7th, and again December 13th and 14th, with four departures each Saturday and three each Sunday.

Passengers will ride in a decorated, climate-controlled Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum train car as Santa’s elves lead caroling, storytelling, and refreshments. The train will make its way to Santa’s Workshop in Trion to pick up Santa himself, who will visit with children, pose for photos, and give each child a special keepsake.

Each weekend also features the Santa Special Mistletoe Market, open Saturday from 11 to 7:30 and Sunday from 1 to 7:30, offering food, crafts, specialty vendors, and free children’s activities. Kids can enjoy “Make & Take” crafts, cookie decorating and storytime with Mrs. Claus, plus visits from The Grinch. The depot will be fully decorated for Christmas, including a Victorian theme opening weekend, and admission to the depot and market is free.

Tickets for the Santa Special are $21 and available at tvrail.com.
