Chattooga County Schools have several important dates coming up in November, including a parent conference day, the district spelling bee and Thanksgiving break.

According to the school system’s calendar, Wednesday, November 11, will be a half-day for students, with the remainder of the school day designated for parent-teacher conferences.

The conferences will give parents and teachers an opportunity to discuss students’ academic progress, classroom performance and any areas where additional support may be needed. Parents should watch for information from their children’s schools regarding conference arrangements and early dismissal times.

The following day, Thursday, November 12, the school system will hold its district spelling bee at Lyerly Elementary School. The competition begins at 6 PM and will feature student spellers competing for district recognition.

Looking ahead to the Thanksgiving holiday, Chattooga County Schools will be closed November 24 through November 27 for Thanksgiving break. With the district’s regular four-day school week, students will return to classes on Tuesday, December 1.

Parents and students are encouraged to keep these dates in mind as they make plans for November.
