Chattooga County 4-H Hosting Shotgun Fundraiser Event

The Chattooga County 4-H Shotgun Team is inviting the community to take part in a Modified Trap Fundraiser coming up on Saturday, April 18 at 10 a.m. The event will be held at the Old Landfill on Butler Dairy Road in Summerville.

Organizers say the fundraiser will feature a four-man team competition, with an entry fee of $100 per team. Participants will have the chance to compete for cash and various prizes, with concessions also available on site.

The event supports the Chattooga County 4-H Shotgun Team and its efforts to provide youth with opportunities for skill development, teamwork, and competitive shooting sports. Chattooga County 4-H Announces 2026 “Into the Wild” Camp At F.D. Roosevelt State Park

Chattooga County 4-H and ANR have announced that F.D. Roosevelt State Park has been selected as the destination for this year’s annual “Into the Wild” Camp.

Students will take part in a three-day, two-night adventure from June 1 through June 3, exploring Georgia’s largest state park. Camp activities will include hiking, swimming, and fishing, along with opportunities to enjoy the outdoors and learn more about Georgia’s natural resources.

The cost to attend is $80, with payment due by May 1st. Organizers say space is limited, so families are encouraged to register early.

Chattooga County 4-H Urges Residents to “Give $4 for 4-H” on April 4th

Chattooga County 4-H and the Georgia 4-H Foundation are calling on residents to show their support for local youth leadership development by participating in the annual “$4 for 4-H” campaign on April 4th. The initiative encourages community members to donate $4, $44, $444, or any amount they choose, to directly benefit Chattooga County programming and contribute towards a statewide goal of $114,444. Georgia 4-H, the largest youth leadership organization in the state, operates as a unit of the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Extension Service and serves every county in Georgia. Through hands-on learning experiences and mentorship, 4-H empowers young people with essential life skills like confidence, resilience, and curiosity. Participants choose from diverse projects in areas like science, health, agriculture, and citizenship, fostering valuable “learn-by-doing” opportunities. The Chattooga County 4-H program plays a vital role in the community, actively engaging with every school in the county and providing education and valuable life skills to hundreds of students annually.
