Chattooga County residents who qualify for help paying winter heating bills can start applying now through the federally funded Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)—with priority currently given to households most at risk.
The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program — better known as LIHEAP — starts TODAY for homebound and elderly households in Chattooga County. North Georgia Community Action is urging residents to call as soon as phone lines open at 8:30 a.m., as funding is limited and assistance is provided strictly on a first-come, first-served basis.
