Beginner Sewing Class Set at Chattooga Library

The Chattooga Library will host a Beginner Sewing class on Monday, April 13, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at its location on Farrar Drive in Summerville.

The workshop is open to ages 12 and up and will give participants the chance to learn basic sewing skills while creating a reusable shopping bag with the help of a volunteer seamstress. The class is hosted by the Sara Hightower Regional Library System.

Chattooga Library Invites Readers to Join Adult Book Club in Summerville

The Chattooga Library is inviting local readers to take part in its Adult Book Club, which meets every other week at the library in Summerville.

The group features a variety of reading selections chosen by participants, ranging from historical fiction to psychological thrillers and many genres in between. Organizers say the club is open to adults who enjoy reading and discussing books in a welcoming group setting.

Chattooga Library Hosting Crochet Club Tuesday Afternoon

The Chattooga Library is inviting local crafters to grab their yarn and join the Crochet Club on Tuesday, January 20, from 2 PM until 3 PM at the library, located at 360 Farrar Drive in Summerville.

The event, hosted by the Sara Hightower Regional Library System, is open to anyone who enjoys crochet, knitting, cross stitch, or sewing. Makerspace Monday Returns to Chattooga Library Jan. 26 — Registration Required

Adults in Chattooga County can get hands-on with creative technology later this month during Makerspace Monday at the Chattooga Library.

The event is set for Monday, January 26, 2026, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the library, located at 360 Farrar Drive in Summerville. Organizers say the program is open to ages 18 and up, and registration is required.

Participants can sign up for a time slot to use makerspace equipment such as a Cricut, 3-D printers, a large-format printer, and a laser engraver. Materials are available at cost, or attendees can bring their own.

Bingo Night Returns to Trion Library on January 2

The Sara Hightower Regional Library System is inviting the community to kick off the new year with a fun afternoon of Bingo at the Trion Library.

The event is scheduled for Friday, January 2, 2026, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the library, located at 15 Bulldog Boulevard in Trion. Organizers say participants will have the chance to play several rounds of bingo, with prizes awarded to winning cards.

The event is open to the public, and community members of all ages are encouraged to attend. Library staff say the bingo event is part of ongoing efforts to provide engaging and social activities for residents in Trion and across Chattooga County.

Trion Public Library Hosting Last “Monday Fun Day” of the Year December 29

Families in Chattooga County have one more chance to wrap up 2025 with a kid-friendly activity at the Trion Public Library, as the library hosts the last Monday Fun Day of the year on Monday, December 29, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Monday Fun Days are presented by the Sara Hightower Regional Library System and are designed as a rotating schedule of family-friendly events that give kids and parents something fun to do at the start of each week. The program is held at the Trion Public Library, located at 15 Bulldog Boulevard in Trion.

Organizers encourage families to stop by each Monday for a different activity, with themed weeks that can include crafts, movies, family game days, and special clubs.
