The Georgia Senate on Friday approved its version of the $42.3 billion amended state budget, keeping major tax rebates for Georgians while increasing funding for mental health services and rural infrastructure.
The Mayor and Council of the City of Summerville will hold the first reading of the FY 2025–2026 Mid-Year Budget Ordinance on Monday, February 9, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Summerville Recreation Center, located at 220 Highway 100, Summerville, Georgia 30747, and the public is invited to attend. City officials encourage residents to come out and stay informed as the mid-year budget ordinance is presented for its first reading.
The Summerville City Council will hold a Special Called Meeting on Monday, February 2, 2026, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The meeting is expected to focus heavily on city finances and budget planning as officials review the mid-year status of the current fiscal year.
In a decision made late last year, the City of Summerville City Council awarded a multi-year bid for sanitation services, while signaling that sanitation fees will be reviewed and potentially adjusted later this year during the city’s mid-year budget process. City leaders said the approach gives residents and businesses time to look over possible changes before any new rates take effect.
