There’s Hope for the Hungry, a nonprofit organization dedicated to combating food insecurity and spreading the Gospel, will host a free food distribution event this Wednesday, February 19th, at South Summerville Baptist Church. Located on Highway 48, just past Mason Funeral Home, the church invites community members to come and receive assistance from 10 AM to 1 PM. This initiative aims to provide much-needed support to families facing hunger in the North Georgia region. Last year, There’s Hope for the Hungry made a significant impact, serving a staggering 69,261 people and providing food to 28,805 families. Among those served were 19,657 children and 14,104 senior adults, with a total of 482,139 pounds of food distributed. Remarkably, the organization also saw 998 professions of faith, highlighting their commitment to not only feeding the body but also nurturing the spirit.  Those community members in need are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity, as no identification is required to receive food.
