Mr. Tommy Leon Treadaway, age 63, of Hampton Court, Dalton, GA, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2010 in Hamilton Medical Center.  He was born February 12, 1947 in LaFayette, GA, was retired from Mount Vernon Mills, was a Baptist by faith and was a member of Disabled Veterans.  Mr. Treadaway was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Vietnam as a medic.

 

Mr. Treadaway was preceded in death by his father and mother, Lonnie (L. C.) and Mae Brown Treadaway and a brother, Charles Treadaway.

 

Mr. Treadaway is survived by his sons, Chris Treadaway and Alan Treadaway of Dalton, GA; sisters, Diane Watkins of Trion, GA, Shirley Speer of Summerville, GA, Betty Mahan of Rome, GA, Debbie Piper of Tennessee and Sandra Kirby of Summerville, GA; brothers, Jimmy Treadaway of Trion, GA, Jerry Treadaway of Summerville, GA, Randy Treadaway of Cedartown, GA, Bobby Treadaway of Rome, GA, and Billy Treadaway of Trion, GA; several nieces and nephews also survive.

 

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 2pm from the chapel of Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home with Rev. Buster Fox officiating.  Interment will follow in West Hill Cemetery with full military honors.

 

Mr. Treadaway will lie in state at the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home on Thursday, February 18, 2010, where the family will receive friends from 1 until 2pm.  Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
