Two people were arrested on disorderly house charges after a Chattooga County deputy responded to a reported physical domestic dispute on Mountain View Road.

According to a Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office incident report, Melissa Susan Milam, 59, and Robert Gene Milam Jr., 59, were arrested September 18 following the incident at a residence on Mountain View Road.

The report says a Chattooga County deputy was dispatched to the residence shortly after 9:20 p.m. in reference to a physical domestic dispute.

The complainant told the deputy that her former husband had struck her and provided a photograph of an injury to her back.

The man reportedly told deputies that the woman had arrived at the residence angry and had thrown water on him. Deputies also observed an empty cup on a sofa.

According to the report, deputies were unable to determine a predominant aggressor because neither party was taking responsibility or providing a clear account of what occurred. Both were subsequently arrested for disorderly house.

The deputy noted that law enforcement had responded to the residence multiple times previously, including calls on March 2, May 3 and May 27, as well as the September 18 incident.

The report states that the parties had committed the offense of disorderly house by causing a common disturbance at the Mountain View neighborhood.

Both were transported to the Chattooga County Jail without incident.
