The Walker County Historical Society will hold its regular monthly meeting today at 3:00 p.m. at the historic Marsh House. This gathering also serves as the Society’s annual business session, which includes the election of officers for the upcoming year.
Today’s program will feature presenters Penny and Forrest Simmons, who will lead an in-depth discussion on how biking, recreation, tourism, and historic preservation can work together to strengthen local communities. Their presentation will highlight McLemore Cove as a key example of these elements intersecting to create both cultural and economic value.
Residents interested in local history, outdoor recreation, or regional preservation efforts are invited to attend.
