Unseasonably warm weather will continue across the region this week, with temperatures running 15 to 20 degrees above normal by the end of the workweek. Dry and mostly clear conditions are expected through at least the first half of the week as high pressure builds over the Southeast.

Any remaining showers and thunderstorms will taper off this evening as an upper-level low exits the area. While a few storms south of Interstate 20 could still produce small hail or brief gusty winds early, the severe weather threat is diminishing quickly. Overnight, skies will gradually clear, setting the stage for a quiet and pleasant Monday with afternoon highs climbing into the mid-60s under increasing sunshine.

From Tuesday through midweek, a strong upper-level ridge and surface high pressure will dominate, keeping rain chances low and allowing temperatures to steadily rise. Highs are forecast to reach the upper 60s to low 70s Tuesday, warming into the low to mid-70s Wednesday, and pushing into the mid to upper 70s by Thursday and Friday. Some areas of central Georgia could even see low 80s, with the potential for daily record highs and warm overnight lows.

The next best opportunity for rain arrives late Wednesday into Thursday as a weak disturbance moves into the region. Scattered light rain showers will be possible, though coverage is expected to remain limited. Additional rain chances may return late Friday into the weekend as the ridge begins to weaken, but confidence in timing and coverage remains low.

Overall, expect a warm, spring-like pattern to dominate the week, with dry conditions holding firm until at least midweek.
