U.S Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene attacked the Rome City Commission in her remarks at a Republican rally in Rome over the past weekend. Greene, who moved to Rome so that she could run for Congress in the 14th Congressional District, says that the November elections are important to defeat “Democratic city commissioners that encourage Black Lives Matter and want to de-fund the police”. As with most municipalities in Georgia, Rome’s elections are non-partisan. Greene went on to say that some Rome City Commissioners want to allow sex toys to be sold “in front of children” and that they “ignore drag queens”. She also spoke against the plans to build a new $120 million elementary school in Rome, saying the Rome School Board should have “fiscal restraint”.
