Residents across Chattooga County and Northwest Georgia can expect one more day of unusually warm weather today before a cold front pushes temperatures back down early this week.

Forecasters say highs on Sunday will climb into the mid to upper 80s, running around 15 to 20 degrees above normal for late March. Skies should stay mostly clear and conditions will remain dry through the day.

Changes begin Monday as a front starts moving south through north Georgia. A few isolated rain chances could develop early Monday morning, with additional shower and thunderstorm chances arriving as the boundary shifts farther south later in the day.

While the greater threat for stronger storms appears to be focused farther south and east in Georgia on Monday, Northwest Georgia will still see a pattern change with cooler air moving in behind the front. High temperatures are expected to fall back into the 60s by Tuesday, bringing a noticeable break from the early spring heat.

Rain chances through the middle of the week remain on the low side, but forecasters say brief disturbances could still bring occasional spotty precipitation Tuesday and Wednesday. After the cooler start, temperatures are expected to rebound later in the week, with highs possibly returning to the mid 80s to lower 90s by Friday.
