Applications are now being accepted for the 2026 Georgia Centennial Farm Program, which honors farms that have been in the same family for 100 years or more.
The program recognizes Georgia’s rich agricultural heritage, with more than 630 farms already designated as Centennial Farms statewide.
To qualify, farms must meet several criteria. The property must be a working farm with at least 10 acres and generate a minimum of $1,000 in annual agricultural income. Additionally, the farm must have remained in continuous operation by the same family for at least a century.
The deadline to apply is May 1, 2026.
The Centennial Farm Program is a partnership between the Georgia Department of Agriculture, the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension, and the Georgia Historic Preservation Division. The program highlights the importance of preserving family farms and their contributions to the state’s history and economy.
Farm owners who meet the qualifications are encouraged to apply and have their family’s legacy recognized.
