Friday night will bring another full evening of high school football coverage on WZQZ, with the Chattooga Indians returning to action against Model and the Trion Bulldogs traveling to Walker County to face Ridgeland.

Both games kick off at 7:30 PM Friday, and both games will be available on the WZQZ Facebook Page. The Chattooga-Model game will also be the featured WZQZ Radio broadcast on 99.1 FM.

Chattooga Returns From Open Week To Face Model

The Chattooga Indians return to the field after an open date last Friday and will welcome the Model Blue Devils to the Little Big Horn.

Chattooga opened the season with a loss to LaFayette before getting an extra week to prepare for Model. For Coach Rune Gable and the Indians, Friday night provides an opportunity to get back on the field at home and pick up their first win of the young season.

Model comes into the matchup after an impressive start. The Blue Devils opened the season with a victory over Walker and followed that with a 31-7 win over Trion last Friday night.

That makes Friday’s game an important early-season test for the Indians against a Model team that has shown it can put points on the board while limiting opposing offenses.

Chattooga will look to establish its offense and avoid giving Model short fields, while the Indians’ defense will be challenged to slow down a Blue Devil team coming off back-to-back victories.

The Chattooga-Model game will be WZQZ Radio’s featured broadcast Friday night on 99.1 FM, and the game will also be streamed live on the WZQZ Facebook Page.

Trion Heads To Ridgeland Looking To Bounce Back

The Trion Bulldogs will be on the road Friday night, traveling to Rossville to face the Ridgeland Panthers.

Trion enters the game at 1-1 after opening the season with a 36-7 victory over Gordon Lee before falling to Model 31-7 last week at Sam R. McCain Stadium.

For Coach Sean Patrick and the Bulldogs, Friday’s game presents an opportunity to bounce back and return to the win column.

Trion has shown the ability to move the football behind players including Linc Allen, Landon Kimbell and Hudson Thomas, and the Bulldogs will look for a stronger offensive showing after being held to seven points against Model.

Ridgeland is still looking for its first win of the season, making Friday night’s matchup important for both teams as they try to build momentum heading deeper into the schedule.
