Chattooga County and northwest Georgia will remain mostly dry through the end of next week, with no significant rainfall expected. Clear skies and low humidity will allow temperatures to drop into the 30s overnight, while afternoons warm quickly under sunshine.
A weak front arrives late Saturday night into early Sunday, bringing light, scattered showers. Rainfall amounts look minimal, and while a brief rain/snow mix is possible in the coldest spots early Sunday, no accumulation is expected. The front will weaken as it moves south.
The main impact comes behind the system as Arctic high pressure sweeps into the region. Temperatures will fall sharply Sunday night into Monday, with lows dipping into the teens across north Georgia and wind chills potentially reaching the single digits in higher elevations. Monday will be cold and brisk, with highs only in the low 40s and very dry air that may create elevated fire danger conditions.
A gradual warming trend begins Tuesday, with temperatures still below normal in the morning but highs recovering into the upper 40s and 50s. Dry conditions continue mid-week before the next chance of showers arrives late Wednesday into Thursday.
