According to reports posted by the Summerville News – the Summerville Pure Stop located on Highway 114 was robbed just after 6:30pm Thursday.
The suspect, described as an older woman, reportedly entered the store demanding money and cigarettes from the on-duty clerk.
The employee later told authorities that she didn't see any weapon – but the robber told her she had someone waiting outside with a gun.
Afterwards, the woman left on foot; no one was hurt during the episode.
The investigation into the incident is on-going.

The bridge replacement project on Welcome Hill Road is now complete.
Chattooga County Public Works Director Joe Reed informed us that it was a state mandated project, with the new structure being installed for the long-term safety of all those traveling over that span.
The bridge is located just past the Chattooga River tributary on Welcome Hill Road and that work was actually finished a bit ahead of schedule.
Reed said he greatly appreciates the patience of the public while the work was being done.
