Ms. Helen Ruth Youngblood Vine, age 88, of Summerville, GA, passed away Thursday December 24, 2015, at her residence.
Ms. Vine was born November 14, 1927, in Dalton, GA, the daughter of the late Tom and Hettie England Youngblood. She was retired from Peterson Farms, a member of the Chesterfield Baptist Church, and preceded in death by a daughter, Jackie Sammons, grandson, Chad Thompson, granddaughters, Tracy Honeycutt, Wendy Riley, 1 sister and 4 brothers.
Survivors include sons & daughter-in-law, Buddy Purcell, William & Doria Purcell, daughters & sons-in-law, Linda & Harley Lawson, Charlotte & Thomas Flood, Wanda & Wayman Styles, Dorothy Thompson, Debra McCary, 23 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday December 30, 2015, in the family lot at AMI cemetery, with Rev. Greg Ledford and Rev. Steve Bishop officiating.
Family and friends are asked to meet at AMI Cemetery at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday.

As water levels rise in many parts of Georgia, Northwest Georgia Red Cross volunteers mobilized to open a shelter to those seeking refuge from the high waters and flooding. The Northwest Georgia Red Cross is currently operating a shelter in Chattooga County. At the shelter there will be cots, blankets, food, beverages and comfort. “Many Georgians have never experienced flooding and life-threatening weather ” said Jeffrey Putnam, executive director of the Northwest Georgia Red Cross, which serves, Bartow, Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Fannin, Floyd, Gilmer, Gordon, Murray, Polk, Walker, Whitfield and Union Counties “With this near constant rain and flooding, we want to make sure everyone has a chance to stay safe”.
