City of Summerville Police Officers issued a leash law citation after a small child was bitten by a neighbors dog earlier this week.

Last week, Chattooga County Sheriff Deputies met with Ronnie Winters regarding a threat made against him by his niece and her husband. According to Winters, he was informed that Jason Baker was overheard stating that he was going to kill Ronnie Winters. While Winters wasn’t sure what he was going to do just yet, he wanted a report placed on file and he was going to speak with his attorney.
A traffic stop for no working tag lights lead to an arrest for an outstanding warrant and to confiscation of a suspected schedule II narcotic.
Georgia plans to close its eight mass vaccination sites next month.
The sites run by the Georgia Emergency Management Agency, including the one at the LakePoint Sports Complex in Bartow County, are set to cease operations on May 21.
It was also announced Monday that the mass vaccination sites will shift to providing single-dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine and Pfizer second doses through May 21.
First doses of the Pfizer vaccine will not be administered at these sites after April 30.

- Waycross Mall: Ware County, 2215 Memorial Drive, Waycross, GA 31501
- Sandersville Word of Life Church: Washington County, 1214 S. Harris Street, Sandersville, GA 31082
The City of LaFayette swimming pool will open for the season on Memorial weekend, Saturday, May 29th. Admission is $4 per person with age 3 and under free. Season passes are available at $40 for individual or $100 for families up to 5.
The pool will be open 7 days a week and swim lessons will also be available this summer. Contact the LaFayette Rec Center for more information at 706-639-1590.
Last week, Chattooga County Sheriff Deputies met with resident, Melody Witt at the Sheriffs Office to take a report of credit card fraud. Witt stated that she had received an alert on her phone of her credit card being used at Neiman Marcus for a total of $470.80. Witt stated her husband, whose name the card is in, was at work and also claimed the charge was fraudulent. Witt had already contacted the card company, Capitol One and cancelled the card, but she also wanted a report placed on file.
The Trion Middle School Boys Soccer team won their second consecutive championship last night. The Bulldogs defeated Heritage Middle School, 2-0 to bring home the win. In the regular season the Bulldogs went undefeated ending only one game in a 2-2 tie, which was against Heritage Middle. Congratulations to the Trion Middle School Boys Soccer team.
