Mr. James Edward Miller Obit (M)

Mr. James Edward Miller, age 68, Menlo, GA, passed away Saturday November 21, 2015, in Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Miller was born December 26, 1946, in Trion, GA, the son of the late D.M. (Doc) Miller and Myrtle Estel Woodall Miller.  He was employed with the Chattooga County Public Works Department. 

 Survivors include his wife, Carol DeLay Miller, Daughter, Misty Burdick, Rome, GA, Step-son, Jeff Tomlin, Lafayette, GA, Step-daughter, April & Husband, Lamar Dennison, Lafayette, GA, Brother, Jesse Lee & Wife, Alisa Miller, Sister, Mary Ann Miller Wood, Grandchildren, Tyler Burdick, Austin Burdick, Dustin  Dennison, Jonathan Tomlin, Jesse Tomlin, Great-grandchild, Weston Tomlin and several nieces and nephews also survive. 

Funeral service will be  held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday November 24, 2015, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Charles Bishop officiating with interment in  the Lyerly Cemetery.  Active and Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Chattooga County Public Works Department.

 Mr. Miller will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends Monday November 23, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m.  Mason Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements for Mr. James Edward Miller who died on Saturday.

Man Arrested on Sexual Battery Charge

A Rome man is facing charges of sexual battery and false imprisonment after an incident that happened early Friday morning.

According to Floyd County Jail reports, 23-year-old Sixto Badillo of a Marshall Lane residence is accused of groping the victim’s private areas and holding her on the ground against her will at a location on Old Lindale Road.

Police said Badillo admitted holding the victim on the ground and "kissing her without letting her up."
