A report of a domestic dispute brought a Chattooga County officer to a home on Highway 337 on October 7th.

The complainant told the officer that a Mr. Isaac Pena came to her home asking for a cigarette. When the woman said no and told Mr. Pena to leave, he began yelling at her while walking away from the home. Mr. Pena had been told before that he was not welcome at the woman's home.

Mr. Pena was located in the Best parking lot. He told officers that he had been there earlier and walked to a friend's house to borrow a cigarette. When his friend did not have one, he traveled to the woman's house. He admitted that when the woman told him to leave, he became angry and began yelling. 

Mr. Pena was placed under arrest and taken to the Chattooga County Jail. 

A Chattooga County officer was directed towards the Highway 27 Walmart in reference to a shoplifting.

Ms. Brittany Matney was seen taking two items from their shelves and placing them in her purse. Ms. Matney then passed all registers and cashiers and did not have a receipt for the items.

The items stolen were a USB cable and a USB adapter. The items were valued over $37.

Ms. Matney was arrested and taken to the Chattooga County Jail. 

A Chattooga County officer was dispatched to Ben Mosley Circle on October 2nd after receiving a report of a domestic dispute.

One woman told the officer that her boyfriend had started arguing with her about a cell phone call she had received earlier that morning.

The woman also told the officer that before leaving, her boyfriend had shoved her. The officer could not locate the suspect that day. The woman stated that she only wanted her boyfriend to leave and stop harassing her.

Once the man is located, the investigation will continue in-depth. 

A Walmart theft brought a Chattooga County officer to the store on Highway 27 on October 2nd.

 Zoe Hayes took a cap, slippers, and a blanket from the infant department. Ms. Hayes put the items in a diaper bag and left the store without paying.

The items were valued over twenty-one dollars.

Ms. Hayes was placed under arrest for theft and taken to the Chattooga County Jail. 

On Wednesday, October 2nd, a Chattooga County officer traveled to West Spring Creek Road in reference to a domestic dispute.

The complainant told the officer that her former boyfriend of four years, Jeffrey Goins, had come to the home and parked his truck in the back yard. The woman told the officer that the home belongs to Mr. Goins' sister, but that she was signing a lease for the home herself.

The woman asked her boyfriend what he was doing since he had been gone for several days. All he replied with was a request for a cigarette. When she asked Mr. Goins if he wanted anything to eat, he told her that she would not be as nice once she knew what he had done. He told her that she did not have any more clothes inside the house, but would not explain what he did with the clothes. He left immediately after the conversation.

The woman went into the house to see that there were several bags missing that were full of clothes that belonged to her, Mr. Goins, and their children's clothes. She suspected that Mr. Goins had burned them, since they have a designated area for burning items.

Mr. Goins returned to the home while the officer was present, and when asked why he burned his own clothes and their children's, he said that he did not look inside the bags but just burned them.

Mr. Goins was arrested for Criminal Trespass and taken to the Chattooga County Jail. 

On October 3rd, Chattooga County officers answered to a report of a theft from West Washington Street.

The complainant told officers that the day before his wife used his vehicle take a woman and her daughter to the store. While she was out, the wife was arrested and taken to the Chattooga County Jail.

The complainant said that he was unaware of who returned his vehicle to their residence, but was sure that several different items of his and his wife's belongings were missing from the car.

The items included both his and her clothing, a set of screwdrivers, two pairs of pliers, and a six-pack of black socks.

The incident report was referred to Investigations. 

Chattooga County officers traveled to Choctaw Drive in Trion on September 28th in reference to a theft.

A car battery was stolen from one man's residence; the battery was under the shed behind the man's home.

The battery was last seen on the 25th and noticed missing on the 28th of September. Several weeks before the man made the phone call, he reported several miscellaneous items missing from the shed on his property.

The incident was referred to Investigations for further review.
