The lady bulldogs fought a hard battle against the Southwest Atlanta Christian lady warriors in Wednesday night’s basketball championship. 

Trion struggled to keep up with the lady warriors during the first quarter and ended it with a score of 13-12 in favor of Southwest Atlanta Christian.  However, it was all down hill from there.

The lady warriors were just too quick for the Trion lady bulldogs and they continued to pull ahead for the rest of the game.  Unfortunately, the lady bulldogs suffered from a 26 point loss with a final score of 74-48, ending their season.

The Lady Bulldogs’ basketball team came out with a victory in Saturday night’s game against the Eagle’s Landing Chargers. 

The Bulldogs had several turn-overs early in the first quarter that allowed the Chargers to pull ahead with a score of 19-15 at the end of the first quarter. However, Trion closed the gap during the second quarter and ended the first half with a score of 25-23. 

In the first few seconds of the second half, Trion pulled ahead to start the half with a score of 26-25.  Although the bulldogs started the second half off strong, the lead was tossed back and forth during the third quarter, but Trion managed to maintain the lead by three, with a score of 35-32 at the end of the third period.

During the final quarter, the Chargers only managed to score two points during the final period until the last few seconds when a three point shot was made, but this still left the Chargers nine points behind to end the game with a final score of 46-37.

Trion’s lady bulldogs will move on to the next round of the finals next week. Be sure to tune in to AM 1180 to hear the game broadcasted.

The Chattooga Indians basketball season came to an end Friday evening.  They ended their season with an overall record of 15 and 8. 

At the end of the third quarter the Indians were down by 16 with a score of 44-28, and it was all down hill from there.  The Decatur Bulldogs got rebound after rebound during the playoff game making it hard for the Indians to keep up. 

During the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs made repeated lay-ups against the Indians to end the game with a final score of 58-43 in the final seconds.

The Chattooga Lady Indians were defeated by an upsetting 50 to 35 by the Model Blue Devils.  Though the Indians gave the Blue Devil’s a run for their money, they were unfortunately unable to overcome them in Saturday’s quarter finals match.
