A minor wreck ended with a DUI arrest and a transport to Floyd County for one individual this week.
Georgia State Patrol and local Law Enforcement are urging caution when traveling this New Years Holiday.
Cloudland Park 5K Fun Run/Walk to be held July 1st. Begins at 8 am, runners/walkers need to be at the park by 7:45 am. Registration fee is $20 the day of the event and pre-registration $15. This includes free T-shirt. Lunch will be Holy Smokes BBQ pulled pork sandwiches, chips, pickle, and a drink for $5.00. There will also be a raffle, bingo, and other activities.

Mrs. Myrtle Ruth White, age 71, of Summerville, GA, died Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. White was born September 14, 1945, in Cartersville, GA, daughter of the late Bradley and Mary Lou Collum Edwards. She was a homemaker and a member of the Subligna Baptist Church.
Mrs. White is survived by her husband, Jerry White; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Nick Dimos; brothers, Jerry Edwards, Charles Edwards, and Eddie Edwards; sister, Karen Edwards; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. White will be held at 4:30 P.M. Friday, June 16, 2017, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Benny Price officiating. Interment will follow in the Subligna Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gene Martin, Jeremy Edwards, Yandell Park, Chris Cook, Brett Scott, and Allen Cooper.
Mrs. White will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until the hour of service on Friday.
Mason Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Myrtle Ruth White who died on Wednesday.

The Trion Board of Education meeting for June has been moved from June 19th to June 26, 2017. The meeting will be held at 6:00 pm at the Trion Board of Education office located at 239 Simmons Street in Trion.
