Discover the magic of Ham radio and join the Chattooga Amateur Radio Club for their Winter Field Day 2026 at the Summerville Senior Center on Saturday January 24th and Sunday January 25th. The event will begin at 2 pm on Saturday and end at 2pm on Sunday. Guest are welcomed to get on the air for free and no license is required to try their guest station. All ages are welcomed!
There’s Hope For The Hungry will be distributing food at the South Summerville Baptist Church on Wednesday January 21st from 10am until 1 pm. No ID is required but food must be picked up in person.

Mrs. Tammy Michelle Brown, age 56 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Sunday, January 18, 2026 in a Rome hospital.
Tammy was born in Ft. Oglethorpe, Georgia on October 20, 1969, daughter of Harold Richard Lowrance and Charlene Darlene Greene Trammell. She was a member of the Berryton Church of God, a graduate of Trion High School and had been employed with Mt. Vernon Mills and WireTech. She enjoyed adult coloring books, working puzzles and watching TV. Tammy was preceded in death by her husband, Greg Brown and a sister, Angela Michelle Lowrance.
Tammy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, RJ and Brooke Brown; mother and step-father, Charlene and Joe Trammell; father and step-mother, Richard and Pam Lowrance; step brother, Jeremy Trammell; grandson, Dax Brown; aunt, Vickie Dearing and an uncle, Johnny Greene.
Tammy’s family will receive friends at the Coffman Funeral Home on Friday, January 23, 2026 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
There are no plans at this time for a formal funeral service.
