High School Football Week 4 on WZQZ Tonight

Week 4 of the 2024 high school football season kicks off tonight and both the Chattooga Indians and the Trion Bulldogs will be in action at home.  After a week off, the 2-0 Chattooga Indians will look to continue their winning streak in hopes of going 3-0 for the first time since 2015.  To do so, the Indians will have to conquer the visiting Mount Zion Eagles tonight at the Little Big Horn.  Mount Zion is 2-1 on the season with back to back victories to open the season against Chattahooche County and Ranburne, AL.  However the Eagles suffered their first loss of the season last week in a one point loss to Bethlehem Christian Academy 14-13.  Mount Zion is coming off a tough 3-8 season last year and a last place finish in Region 7A.

The Trion Bulldogs, who are currently ranked # 8 in the state according to the AJC, currently sit at 3-0 on the season after a 42-15 win last week against Temple.  The Dawgs will welcome the 2-1 Model Blue Devils to Sam R. McCain Stadium tonight.  Model is coming off a win last week over Coosa 23-13.  The Blue Devils also defeated Sonoraville in week 1 21-14.  The lone loss on Model’s schedule this year was back in week 2 when they lost 48-0 to Cass.  Bulldog fans still remember the last regular season home loss came against the Model Blue Devils two years ago in 2022 when Model squeaked out a 31-27 win.  Trion avenged that loss last year at Model 31-12 and will be looking to defend their home turf tonight.  Model is coming off a 7-4 season last year, finishing 3rd place in region 7AA and losing in the 2nd round of the playoffs to Callaway.

You can watch all of the action tonight live as both games will be video streamed on the WZQZ Facebook page.  The Chattooga vs Mount Zion game will also be broadcast on the radio on 99.1 FM and AM 1180.  Join Chris “Bubba” Wilson and Steiner Davis as they call the action for the Chattooga game with Mason Gilreath on the camera.  Jeremy Burke and Paul Cavin will call the Trion vs Model game tonight along with cameraman Jim Warnock.  The pregame show will begin around 7:15 pm with kickoff to follow at 7:30 pm.
