Friday Night Football Week 3 Tonight On WZQZ

Week 3 of the 2025 high school football season kicks off tonight.  Only one of our local teams will be in action as the Chattooga Indians have a bye week this week.  The Trion Bulldogs will go on the road for the second time this season to take on the Temple Tigers.

The Bulldogs evened their record to 1-1 with a 28-6 win last week over Dade County at home.  The Dawgs will face a much tougher test tonight in Temple as the Tigers are coming off a 9-3 season last year and are 2-0 this season after two dominant wins over McNair and Clarkston.  Last week against Clarkston, who is in Region 5-AAAA, the Tigers offense put 62 points on the board while the defense only gave up 8 points.   Tonight’s game will be the 8th meeting between Trion and Temple.  Trion leads the series 6-1.  Trion and Temple played each other every year from 2000-2005.  Temple’s only win against Trion came in 2005.  The series resumed last year with Trion defeating Temple at Sam R. McCain stadium 42-15.

The Chattooga Indians have a bye week this week and are looking to improve after a disappointing 0-2 start.  The Indians lost their opener 25-0 to Lafayette and then lost last week on the road to Coahulla Creek 30-7.  The Indians have yet to play a home game this year and will be on the road for the 3rd straight time this year next week when they resume action against Mount Zion.

The Trion vs Temple game will be broadcast live on the WZQZ Facebook page as well as on the radio on 99.1 FM and AM 11180.  Join Paul Cavin and Jeremy Burke as they will be on the call for the Dawgs and long with cameraman Jim Warnock and engineer Sam Kohler.
