Chattooga Lodge 704 Hobo Dinner

Tires Cut On Red Leaf Lane In Summerville

Summerville Police were called to a Red Leaf Lane address on Saturday after a complaint was made about vandalism to a vehicle.  When police arrived on the scene, they observed that three tires had been slashed on a 2017 Buick Lacrosse.  The mother of the victim told police that she believed a woman that her son had been arguing with had slashed the tires.  The mother said that the woman in question had made the comment several times that if three tires were cut on a vehicle, insurance wouldn’t pay.  The incident was turned over to an investigator with the Summerville Police Department.

Cancer Coalition Annual Health Initiative

The Northwest Georgia Regional Cancer Coalition is teaming up with the 100 Black Men of Rome-Northwest Georgia for the 22nd annual Health Initiative for Men & Women, set for Saturday, August 17th from 8 am to noon at the Floyd County Health Department, 16 East 12th Street in Rome. Erin Hernandez, President and CEO of the Coalition, says that the event will feature screenings, vendors, refreshments, and educational opportunities.

Hernandez asserts that the health screenings that will be offered at the event could potentially save lives, as early detection is key to recovery from cancer and other health concerns.
