A teen has been arrested following a deadly shooting Sunday night in Calhoun.
AdventHealth Redmond announces the opening of the Cardiac Care Fund, a fundraising initiative dedicated to expanding access to quality heart health care. The fund will provide early diagnosis through screenings, education and bridge the gap between essential services and treatment.
A fire broke out at Maplewood Apartment in Summerville on Tuesday afternoon. The apartment complex is just outside the city limits of Summerville. Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader told WZQZ News on Tuesday evening that the fire destroyed three apartments. The cause of the fire is not known at this time. Sheriff Schrader said that investigators with his office were on the scene of the fire gathering information. WZQZ News will have more details as they become available.

The Walker County Board of Commissioners will hold a meeting coming up on August 8th at 6:30 PM. The meeting will be held at the Walker County Courthouse Annex at 201 S. Main Street in LaFayette. A Summerville man was booked into the Floyd County Jail Sunday on a felony warrant charging him with theft by taking.
Last Friday, agents with the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force, along with the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office and Trion Police executed a search warrant at a home on Filter Plant Road in Summerville where there had been suspected drug activity.

The American Red Cross is experiencing an emergency blood shortage as the nation faces dangerous levels of heat and people head out for final summer travel plans. Since July 1, the Red Cross national blood supply has fallen by more than 25%, and blood donors of all types, especially those with type O blood, are urged to give as soon as possible to help patients receive lifesaving medical care.
