The Summerville City Council will be having their regular monthly meeting for November tomorrow evening at Summerville City Hall. The council has a lot on their agenda for tomorrow night’s meeting.
Georgia Senate Republicans met fresh off the midterm General Election last week to talk about leadership under the gold dome in Atlanta. The Northwest Georgia senate district, that includes Chattooga County, won’t have the same clout coming into 2023 as it enjoyed while Jeff Mullis represented the district.
Just after midnight on November 8th, a Rome man by the name of John Daniel Whatley lll is accused of sending terroristic threats and acts to a woman by texts that she screenshot, advising her that he was going to shoot her in the head.
The Georgia FFA Association’s success at the 95th National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, was highlighted by 15 national champions. Among Georgia’s national titles were the American Star in Agribusiness and American Star in Agriscience, five national proficiency award winners, three national Agriscience Fair award winners, and the nation’s Outstanding Middle School chapter. That honor went to Franklin County Middle School FFA. Summerville Middle School FFA was named one of thirty-six Georgia FFA chapters to get a 3-star rating, the highest rating offered by the National FFA. The public is invited to Summerville City Hall on Monday evening at 5 PM to honor Dr. Bridgette Hopkins with Summerville Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Hopkins has served Summerville and Chattooga County for over 35 years and has over 10,000 patients. The public is encouraged to come and show appreciation for Dr. Hopkins on Monday, November 14 at 5 PM at Summerville City Hall.
Once again this year, the Chattooga County Young Farmers will be holding a Holiday Wreath Class. The cost for the class is $35 per person. The wreath class will be held on Tuesday, December 6th at 6 PM at the Chattooga County Ag Building, located just off Highway 100 on Middle School Drive. The class also includes a light supper.
