The Chattooga Young Farmers will be hosting their monthly meeting coming up tomorrow, Tuesday, November 15 at the Chattooga County Ag Building.  The guest speaker will be Jason Duggin, who will be presenting a program on bull selection.  Duggin serves as the University of Georgia’s Department of Animal and Dairy Science as the Beef Extension Specialist in Calhoun, GA where he supervises the Bull Evaluation and Heifer Development programs at that location.  A steak dinner will be served before the presentation.  The cost is $10.  Those attending are asked to RSVP to Young Farmer Director Lauren Jarrett by noon today.

Summerville Police responded to a call at Thatcher’s Restaurant last week after a woman became irate and refused to leave.  When police arrived at the restaurant, they spoke with an employee who said earlier in the day a man had bought the suspect’s lunch, but the woman didn’t leave the restaurant after eating.  According to the employee, the suspect had been at the restaurant most of the day.  Later in the day, and for no apparent reason, the suspect became irate and threatened an employee saying she was “going to kill her”.  Police arrested twenty-eight-year-old Amber Hovater and while they were arresting her, found her to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine.  Hovater was charged with disorderly conduct and possession of methamphetamine and was booked into the Chattooga County Jail on Wednesday of last week.

See the historical house decked with boughs, bows, greenery, and decorations inspired by a 19^th century Moravian Christmas celebration. Visitors attending the event will tour the lovingly decorated house by candlelight while listening to live music, sponsored by the Friends of the Chief Vann House. A Lyerly church is planning a free Thanksgiving dinner for those in need this coming Saturday, November 19th.  Pentecostal Power Ministries will host the Feed The Hungry Thanksgiving dinner will be held starting at noon until all the food is gone at Dowdy Park in Summerville.  The plates will consist of turkey, dressing, potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce and bottled water.  Weather permitting, there will be live gospel music during the dinner giveaway.

Summerville Pack 38 Cub Scouts completed their annual Rake N Run service project on Saturday. The Scouts completed two yards for their project.
