The Chattooga County Chamber is inviting members and others to the November Chamber Luncheon which will be held on Wednesday, November 16th. The Chamber will be collecting dried and canned goods for the Chattooga County food pantry. Angie Hutchins, director of CRC of Chattooga County, will be the guest speaker to talk about the work her organization does to help feed the hungry in Chattooga County. The theme for the November meeting of the Chamber is “Give Thanks. Give Back”. The public is invited. The meal is catered. Reservations are required. Chattooga High School cheerleaders are inviting everyone out to your Summerville McDonald’s on Monday, November 14th from 5PM-7PM for Chattooga High School Cheerleading Spirit Night. Come by and enjoy your favorite McDonald’s food and support the Chattooga High School Cheerleaders. A portion of all the proceeds will be donated to the Chattooga High School Cheerleading Program.
A twenty-seven-year-old man was arrested at a checkpoint being conducted by Chattooga County Sheriff’s deputies last Thursday after he was found to be driving under the influence of marijuana and suspected methamphetamine was found inside his pickup truck.
A sixty-five-year-old Summerville man was arrested last Thursday on DUI charges after he almost sideswiped a Chattooga County Sheriff’s patrol vehicle.

A sixty-eight-year-old Rome woman was arrested by the Floyd County Police Department after an incident that occurred at a residence on Etowah Drive on Friday. According to Floyd County Jail Records, Brenda Joe Garland allegedly was being questioned by police after being drunk in public when Garland allegedly punched an officer in the face, while also kicking another. Garland is being charged with 2 counts of simple battery against a police officer, 2 felony counts of obstruction, and public drunkenness.
