Georgia gas prices continue to decline at the pump compared to a week ago. Georgia drivers are now paying an average price of $3.52 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline (subject to change overnight). Monday’s state average was 11 cents less than a week ago, 59 cents less than a month ago, and 56 cents more than this time last year.

Deadly Fire In Walker County Caused By Arson – Woman Charged With Murder

One person died and eight families were displaced in a Saturday night fire at Carriage Hill Apartments in LaFayette. LaFayette Police report that arson is the cause and a suspect is in custody.

LaFayette Traffic Stop Ends In Arrest Of Menlo Man

A Menlo man was arrested in LaFayette last week after police performed a traffic stop.  According to reports, LaFayette Police stopped a vehicle on West Main Street after they noticed that the driver of the vehicle was not wearing a seat belt.  While conducting the traffic stop, a K-9 indicated the presence of drugs inside the vehicle.  After performing a search of the car, police found a plastic baggie that contained suspected methamphetamine.  Police arrested thirty-nine-year-old Jamie Lee Culbert of Menlo, who was booked into the Walker County Jail.
