Woman Killed In Wreck Tuesday Evening On Highway 27 Near Highway 156

UDPATE: Hometown Headlines reported this morning: The driver has been identified as 87-year-old Annie Vivian Millican of Trion who died from blunt force trauma caused by the collision, says Floyd County Coroner Gene Proctor. She was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Chris Giles at 6:25 p.m.

UPDATE: Mason Funeral Home will have the arrangements for Ms. Millican.

Pro-Life Rally Planned At Chattooga County Courthouse

A pro-life rally is being planned at the Chattooga County Courthouse for this coming Saturday, August 6th.  Organizers say that the event is being put together by the Northwest Georgia Right to Life, the Chattooga County Republican Party and the Chattooga County Second Amendment Sanctuary group.  The event is being held “in celebration of the overturning of Roe vs Wade”, according to event organizer Jennifer Tudor.  Tudor says that several local pastors will speak at the event along with others.  Tudor says that the event will be held rain or shine.  Those who attend are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and to wear pro-life t-shirts.
