Mr. Johnny “Mike” Thompson, age 57 of Summerville, GA passed away unexpectedly Wednesday- July 6, 2022 at his residence.

There are several reasons why okra is so popular in the south, but not so much up north. One of the biggest reasons is that okra favors the hot humid climate found in southern states and is a close relative of another staple crop that is grown in the south – cotton.
Georgia gas prices decreased at the pump compared to a week ago. Georgia drivers are now paying an average price of $4.19 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline (subject to change overnight). Monday’s state average is 13 cents less than a week ago, 24 cents less than last month, and $1.26 more than this time last year.
