It also includes a state-by-state no-kill priority ranking of which Georgia is sixth (based on 2021 data).

Trion Expected To Adopt Budget Today

The Trion Town Council will hold a meeting this evening at Trion Town Hall at 6 PM.  The purpose of the meeting is to adopt the 2022-2023 fiscal year budget.  The process is expected to go smoothly, as there have not been any questions or comments on the budget at previously held meetings.  The town is looking to adopt a $14.9 million budget at tonight’s meeting.  The town is expecting to bring in $6.4 million from its gas fund – an increase of $787,434 over last year.  The town is also expecting to see more revenue from garbage collection, alcohol sales and the possibility of package liquor sales.  The public is invited to this evening’s meeting.

Democratic Primary Runoff Election Today

Those who voted in the Democratic Primary in May will have the opportunity to return to the polls today to vote in the 2022 Democratic Primary Runoff Election.  Chattooga County Election Superintendent Gary Woods is reminding residents that his office will be closed today for the election.  Democratic voters will be selecting between two candidates for Lt. Governor, Secretary of State, Commissioner of Labor and Commissioner of Insurance.  Polls will be open today from 7 AM until 7 PM.

AAA Reports Slight Decrease At The Pumps

Georgia gas prices decreased at the pump compared to a week ago. Georgia motorists are now paying an average price of $4.47 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline (subject to change overnight). Monday’s state average was 1 cent less than a week ago, 34 cents more than last month, and $1.58 more than this time last year.
