Summerville Council Called Meeting

The City of Summerville will hold a called council meeting on Monday evening at Summerville City Hall.  The purpose of the meeting is the final reading and adoption of the 2022-2023 fiscal year budget.  The council will also have the first reading of the proposed measure for the downtown entertainment district.  The council is also expected to approve the purchase of materials needed for the relocation of utilities on the Highway 48 / Raccoon Creek Bridge.  The meeting will get underway at 5:30 PM and the public is invited to attend.

Blood Assurance 50th Anniversary

Blood Assurance will recognize its 50-year anniversary with a community celebration on Saturday, June 25, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Blood Assurance’s headquarters at 705 E. 4th Street in Chattanooga. A federal grand jury in the Middle District of Georgia returned an indictment yesterday charging five alleged members of the Gangster Disciples with murder and racketeering related to the alleged murder of three people, as well as various other offenses including drug trafficking and obstruction of justice.
