There’s Hope For The Hungry at Lyerly First Baptist Church Tuesday, June 14.There’s Hope for the Hungry serves throughout North Georgia to share the Gospel with everyone and provide boxes of groceries to those in need. The vision of There’s Hope for the Hungry is create an environment where churches and volunteers are evangelizing and caring for their community. They will be giving away free groceries coming up Tuesday, June 14 from 10am until 1pm at Lyerly First Baptist Church. No ID is required and anyone needing food is welcome to attend.

Trion Man Reports Threats From Ex-Wife

A Trion man came to the sheriff’s office this week about threatening and harassing messages he has been receiving from his ex-wife.  The man showed a deputy text messages on his phone that his ex-wife had sent him.  The complainant told the deputy that his ex-wife now lives outside Chattooga County but that she had been sending the messages over a period of time.  In one message the woman threatened to kill the complainant and another to burn his house down.  In another message the woman threatened to kill herself.  The complainant did not want any charges filed, but wanted a report so that he can apply for a temporary protection order against his ex-wife.
