Chattooga County Tax Commissioner Joy Hampton says that she will be doing a Facebook Live event this Thursday for county taxpayers to be able to hear answers to commonly asked questions and she is asking the public to submit questions that she can answer during the live event.
In the Monday evening Leesburg Town Council Meeting, it was approved for a locally owned liquor store to open in the town. Steven Kirkpatrick and his business partner, Blake have come up with a plan to open “Leesburg Liquors” in the old 3,000 sq. ft. Subway building in Leesburg.

MRS. MARY WHITLEY GRIMES, age 70 of Allen Street, Summerville, Georgia, passed away unexpectedly Sunday afternoon, June 5, 2022, in a Rome hospital. She was born July 15, 1951, a daughter of the late T. C. “Bud” Whitley and Mary Beatrice Bailey Whitley. Mrs. Grimes was retired Clerk for the Chattooga County Clerk of Courts office, and a member of the Trion First Baptist Church.
