Election Audit Tuesday

The May Primary Election is over for voters, but the work continues for the Chattooga County Registrars Office.  Coming up on Tuesday of this week, the registrars office will be conducting an audit of this past week’s votes.  Registrar Sheena Weaver tells WZQZ that the audit will be very similar to the audit conducted following the General Election in 2020.  The next time voters will head to the polls in Chattooga County will be for the General Election coming up in November.

Reminder About Memorial Day Closings

Local governmental offices are reminding the public that offices will be closed on Monday in observance of Memorial Day.  The Chattooga County Courthouse, the Courthouse Annex, the Chattooga County Commissioner’s Office, along with the municipal offices of Trion, Summerville, Menlo and Lyerly will all be closed tomorrow for Memorial Day.  If you have an emergency and need to contact the gas or water departments – please call Chattooga 911.
