Large Fire On Lookout Mountain In Walker County

A large forest fire is burning on Lookout Mountain in Walker County.  Flames and the smoke from the fire could be seen from Teloga to the Centerpost Community as Walker County firefighters and the Georgia Forestry Commission battled the blaze on Monday.  Firefighters will be on the scene again today and will bring in reinforcements with aviation equipment from the Forestry Service.  The National Weather Service is reminding Northwest Georgia residents that dangerous fire conditions exist with low relative humidity and windy conditions and say you should NOT be burning outdoors at this time.

Law Called After Misunderstanding In Trion

Late Saturday night a Bulman Alley, Trion man called for a sheriff’s deputy after he said his neighbor was across the street yelling at him.  According to a report released on Monday, when a deputy  arrived and spoke with the complainant he said that his neighbor was standing in the yard yelling at him.  The deputy went across the street and spoke with the neighbor who said it was all a misunderstanding.  The neighbor said he was in his yard yelling at his dogs, not the neighbor across the street.
