Next week is National Agriculture Week and the Georgia Department of Agriculture has declared it Georgia Agricultural Week as well. Tuesday in National Ag Day and hundreds of elementary students in Chattooga County will have the opportunity to find out more about Georgia’s number one industry – agriculture.
WHAT: Weather permitting, crews will continue resurfacing portions of State Route 1/US 27 between Armuchee High School and SR 156. Lanes will periodically be closed at different locations along the route while crews resurface the roadway.
WHEN: Monday, March 21 through Friday, March 25 from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m.
WHERE: Lanes will be periodically closed on SR 1/US 27 between Armuchee High School and SR 156.
The Chattooga Board of Education approved a four-day week school calendar at their monthly meeting on Thursday of this week.

The Chattooga County Board of Education met on Thursday evening and voted to go to a four-day school calendar for the upcoming school year. The vote was 4-0 with board member Brad Hayes abstaining from the vote.
The Georgia Senate unanimously passed a Georgia House bill that would temporarily suspend the state’s gas taxes.
