The Tillotson Menlo Charitable Foundation met on Friday, March 11th for the purpose of electing new officers.  Gary Woods, Chattooga County Probate Judge was elected to serve as the foundation’s president.

Summerville Woman’s Car Damaged By Falling Tree Limb

A Summerville woman’s car was damaged by a falling tree limb on Wednesday of this week.  Pennie McCutchins called police after a limb fell on her vehicle while she was driving down Highland Avenue.  The responding officer said that he could see where the limb had broken from a tree and hit the woman’s car causing moderate damage.  The woman was able to drive the car home.  The officer removed the fallen limb from the roadway.  A report was filed for insurance purposes.

Summerville City Council To Adopt Mid-Year Budget

Summerville Mayor Harry Harvey and the Summerville City Council will hold a called meeting later this month.  The purpose of the meeting is the second reading and adoption of the fiscal year 2021-2022 mid-year budget.  The meeting will be held on March 28, 2022 at 5 PM.  The public is invited to attend.

Blake Street Burglary Reported

The Summerville Police Department is investigating a burglary on Blake Street in Summerville.  George Hovanec told police that someone had broken into a shed at property that he is looking after.   The lock on the building was broken.  Hovanec told police that he would provide them with pictures of the items that were missing from the shed.  The incident was turned over to an investigator.

Mr. Terry Lee Bice, Obit (ER)

Mr. Terry Lee Bice, age 62 of Summerville, Georgia passed away Thursday morning, March 17, 2022 in a Rome, Georgia Hospital. He was born October 12, 1959, in LaFayette, Georgia, a son of the late Frank and Vera Mae Bundrum Bice. In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by brothers, Frank Bice, Jr., Leonard Bice, and Richard Bice.

According to a press release from Bartow County Sheriff Clark Millsap, on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, shortly before 8 a.m., Uniform Patrol Deputies and Criminal Investigators were dispatched to 546 Fieldwood Drive NW, Adairsville in reference to an in-progress emergency call for service.
