Ms. Geneva Johnson Morgan, age 84, of Trion, GA, died Sunday, March 6, 2022, at Advent Health Redmond.
This past week the Georgia Bulldogs announced the return of Trion-native Stacy Searles to the football program at UGA.
Both local school systems continue to report zero COVID-19 cases. Neither the Chattooga County School System nor the Trion City School System had any active coronavirus cases last week.
The Chattooga County School System received an AA+ rating from S&P on Friday of last week. While a high quality rating, it falls below the best rating of AAA.
Chattooga County State Court Judge Jon Dennis tells WZQZ News that he plans to qualify this week for the position he has held for the past eight-years.
Over the past two weeks there have been a lot of political rumblings concerning the three Chattooga County Board of Education seats that will be on the ballot in this years elections.
It will be time to turn those clocks ahead one hour this coming weekend. The official time change will take place in the predawn hours of Sunday, March 13, 2022.
MR. WILEY THOMAS (TJ) HENDERSON, JR., age 84, of Tinney Road, Trion, Georgia passed away Friday evening, March 4, 2022, at his residence. A native of Trion, Georgia, He was born to the late Wiley Thomas Henderson, Sr. and Margie R. Westbrooks Henderson on July 16, 1937. Mr. Henderson was an auto dealer, owned and operated TJ’s Used Cars, was a Veteran of the U. S. Air Force serving in the Korean War, and was preceded in death by his wife, the late Patsy Louise Tinney Henderson and son, the late Stephen Salerno.
