Summerville Police arrested a man after a traffic stop on Martin Street. Police say that the man was in was not maintaining a single lane and an officer initiated a traffic stop. While speaking with the driver and passenger, the officer noticed that the passenger couldn’t stay still.

The Northwest Georgia Health District released the latest COVID-19 numbers for Chattooga County on Tuesday. There have been 4,509 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the county. That’s up by 362. There have now been 99 deaths attributed to COVID-19 in Chattooga County.
Mr. Malcolm Andrew Pickle was born March 27, 1934, in Berryton, Georgia. He passed away on January 16, 2022, at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga.

Georgia gas prices remain unchanged this week. Georgia motorists are now paying an average price of $3.11 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline. Monday’s state average was 2 cents less than a month ago, and 88 cents more than this time last year.

Wreaths Across America is an organization that seeks to place memorial wreaths on veteran’s graves in honor of their service to our nation. Last year, the organization placed more than 2.4 million wreaths. Locally here in Northwest Georgia, Mohawk Industries supports the organization by donating trucks to pull the large shipments of wreaths to their destination. The organization said on Monday, that they have revamped their curriculum used to teach the younger generation about honoring veteran’s. You can read the press release below:
