LaFayette Police arrested a thirty-four-year-old man after a traffic stop recently. According to reports, the Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck the man was driving showed no record of insurance on the state computer records. Also, the mans license was suspended. Timothy David Reynolds told police that he had recently purchased the truck. Officers say that they noticed the scent of burnt marijuana inside the vehicle. A search of the truck turned up a baggie that field-tested positive for methamphetamine and they also found a capped syringe. Reynolds was charged with possession of a schedule one drug, driving with suspended license and no insurance.

Last Friday, deputies responded to a call about a domestic dispute on India Drive in Trion. Deputies arrested fifty-two-year-old Brian Lyndsey Trammell after they talked with the victim who said that Trammell had knocked her to the ground and then kicked in the door of the residence. The victim also said that Trammell wouldn’t let her leave when she tried to get away in her vehicle. Trammell was charged with disorderly conduct and was taken to the Chattooga County Jail.

The 2022 Dog and Cat Sterilization Program grant application through the Georgia Department of Agriculture is now open for applicants.

Funeral services are set for tomorrow for Courtney Spraggins, the twenty-six-year-old Trion resident who was murdered last week in Huntsville, Alabama.

Parts of the WZQZ listening area saw some snow on Sunday – in fact, some folks on Lookout Mountain didn’t get above freezing on Monday and were still dealing with snow on the ground on Tuesday. The good news is, the roads were all clear, even in higher elevations by Sunday evening. Now weather forecasters are telling us that there is the possibility for more winter precipitation as we head towards the end of the week.
