Hazardous Weather Outlook From The National Weather Service

 

Earlier this morning, the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, Georgia issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for all of North Georgia.  Chattooga County, along with the contiguous counties of Walker and Floyd County in Georgia and DeKalb County in Alabama are included in a Winter Weather Advisory.  Please note:  The Hazardous Weather Outlook below is for ALL of North Georgia.  The more specific Winter Weather Advisory is DIFFERENT for Walker and Chattooga Counties than the one issued for DeKalb County, Alabama (by the Huntsville NWS) and the one issued for Floyd County, Georgia.

Trion Schools Reports Surge In COVID Cases

School systems across the nation are seeing a dramatic increase in the number of students and staff with COVID-19.  That’s true at Trion City Schools as well.  According to numbers released on Friday, there are currently 62 cases of COVID-19 in the entire school system.  Almost 4% of the student enrollment and staff at Trion Elementary has tested positive this week.  Trion Middle school has a rate of just over 3% and Trion High School has almost 8% of the student population and staff with COVID.
