Among the six men arrested in a multi-agency child sex sting in Floyd County, dubbed Operation Safe Christmas, was a second grade elementary school teacher from Summerville who teaches second grade at Lyerly Elementary School as well as others who traveled from as far away as Conyers.

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City, Georgia has issued a Dense Fog Advisory that includes Chattooga County and surrounding areas in Northwest Georgia. In fact, the fog advisory extends all the way to central Georgia. The fog advisory is in place until 10 AM this morning. (Saturday, December 18, 2021).
