Coming up this Monday, Summerville Mayor Harry Harvey and the Summerville City Council will be conducting a tour of city-owned facilities. According to a press release from Summerville City Hall on Friday, there will be no city business conducted during the tours of the city-owned buildings.
Charles James Spikes was convicted by a Walker County jury on Wednesday afternoon of rape and child molestation for his sexual assault on a 13-year-old girl in 2017. District Attorney Chris Arnt prosecuted the case and Chief Public Defender Jad Johnson represented Mr. Spikes. The case was tried before Superior Court Judge Hon. Kristina Cook Graham. Spikes will have a sentencing hearing on December 7 th.

MR. WILLIAM KELLY HARRIS – AGE 62, – Of Menlo, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 in Rome, Georgia with his family at his bedside. He was born on June 16, 1959. He was a member of Lawrence Chapel United Methodist Church, graduated from Chattooga High School Class of 1977, and retired from Trion Waste Water Treatment Plant. He was preceded by his father William Arthur Harris and brother, Nathaniel Knowles.
