Missing Student Found At Trion School

A missing student led to a search in and around Trion School on Tuesday.  According to Trion School Supt. Dr. Phil Williams, staff discovered the student was missing and began a search of the school and surrounding area.  The Trion Police and a tracking dog were brought in to assist in the search.  The student was located without incident in the woods close to Trion School.

Coach Bennett Reconsiders Retirement

To say it’s been an amazing year for the Chattooga Lady Indians softball team is probably an understatement.  The girls went all the way to the Elite 8 this year and boasted a season with 20 wins and 7 losses and were 7-3 in Region 7AA play.

Thatchers In Summerville Closed After Smoker Fire

Thatchers in Summerville will be closed today after a smoker fire on Monday.  The BBQ restaurant is closed on Mondays, but employees were working when a smoker caught fire.  The Summerville Fire Department responded to the scene.  There was no damage to the building, other than a lot of smoke.  Thatchers workers will be on hand today to get things cleaned up and plan to reopen as soon as possible.

Rome Braves Hosting World Series Watch Party This Evening

The Atlanta Braves will try to finish off the Astros Tuesday night in Houston to win Atlanta its first World Series title since 1995. The Rome Braves will host a watch party for what could be the biggest game of the year. Area residents can watch the game on the big screen at State Mutual Stadium. Gates open at 6:30 pm. This is a non-ticketed, free event. Your favorite ballpark fare will be available for purchase.
